WARNING

you have read and understood safety, assembly, adjustments and operational instructions
in this manual.
Assembling drum sander carry handles
Assemble both carry handles (A) Fig.3 to each side cover (B) using 2 cap screws to secure
each handle.
Assembling stand and mounting drum sander on stand
Assemble the stand legs and cross brackets using the supplied carriage bolts, washers,
spring washers and hex. nuts as shown in A-Fig.4. Only hand tighten the hardware. Once
stand is assembled, install the 4 corner rubber feet as shown in B-Fig.4.
Once completely assembled, place the stand on its feet in the location you plan on using
your drum sander and tighten all hardware. Make sure the floor surface is level, if not,
adjust the corresponding rubber feet to level the top of the stand.
Raise the drum sander and place it onto the stand. It is recommended to use lifting
equipment or obtain help doing this, this drum sander is heavy! Once the sander is
positioned on the stand, line up mounting holes and secure drum sander to stand from
underneath the stand using 4 cap screws, washers and spring washers as shown in
C-Fig.4.
Assembling and installing conveyor belt handwheel
In the loose items box, remove the handwheel and handwheel handle. Assemble the
handle (A) Fig.5 to the handwheel (B), use 14mm open end wrench on the flat (C) of the
handle to securely tighten it.
Install the handwheel assembly onto the crank shaft on the left side of the drum sander,
make sure the handwheel base engages the lock pin in the crank shaft.
Connecting the single drum sander to a dust collection system
WARNING! NEVER ATTEMPT TO OPERATE YOUR MACHINE WITHOUT A DUST
COLLECTION SYSTEM INSTALLED AND RUNNING!
This 16” single drum sander is equipped with a 4” dust chute (A) Fig.6. Before any
adjustment or operation, a 4” dust collection hose connected to an operational dust
collection system must be secured to the dust chute using a ring clamp. It is very important
that the dust collection hoses gets suspended so that it doesn’t come in contact with the
front or rear of the conveyor belt.
