WIRELESS CONNECTION SET-UP #2
1. Observe the !!SAFETY FIRST!! on page 2
2. Remove the FM-RDS from the dash of your vehicle. (!!If it has a security code
number, don't forget to check that you know the number before you disconnect
the power!!)
3. Choose a suitable place behind or under the dash to position your digitizor box.
For the best wireless performance, mount digitizor close to the car radio, with
no intervening metal objects.
4. Install a DAB car aerial (available separately) equipped with an SMB(F)
connector and run the cable to the location you have chosen for your digitizor.
Insert the DAB aerial plug into the DAB aerial socket of your digitizor.
5. Leave the two FM/AM aerial leads unconnected with the cap in place on the
male DIN connector.
6. Select the power cable without cigar lighter plug, i.e. the one with bare ends.
7. Connect the red power cable to the switched 12v cable to your FM-RDS radio.
8. Connect the black earth cable to the earth cable to your FM-RDS radio.
9. Set the switch on the side of the digitizor to 'Wireless'.
10. If you want to play an external audio device such as an MP3 player or iPod®
through your car radio, connect a 3.5mm stereo audio cable to digitizor's Auxiliary
Input socket. Route the cable to a convenient position for your external audio
device.
11. Switch on your car's FM-RDS car radio.
12. Set the TA/TP of your car radio to 'Off' and ensure its display is set to show FM
station names.
13. Manually tune your car radio to FM 87.60Mhz. Turn the volume control to a
moderate listening level. In UK you will hear mainly hiss.
14. Insert the power cable plug into the 12V DC socket of your digitizor and turn it
gently 90 degrees clockwise to lock it in place. The indicator LED on the digitizor
box will glow red and, after a few seconds, the hiss from your radio will cease.
