Engine Start/Stop Button*
To start the engine, depress the brake pedal and press the ENGINE
START/STOP button (located on the right side of the steering wheel)
with the shift lever in the “P” (Park) position. To unlock the steering
wheel and make the electrical accessories available, press the
ENGINE START/STOP button while it is in the OFF position without
depressing the brake pedal. This places the button in the ACCESSORY
position. From this position, press the ENGINE START/STOP button
once without depressing the brake pedal. The warning lights can now
be checked before the engine is started.
Do not leave the ENGINE START/STOP button in the ON or
ACCESSORY positions for a long time. The battery may discharge
under this condition, because the engine is not running.
nOte:
To use the ENGINE START/STOP button, the driver must have
the transmitter key fob on his person or inserted in the fob holder located
beneath the ENGINE START/STOP button.
WArning:
Never press the Engine Start/Stop Button while the vehicle
is in motion. This could result in loss of directional control and braking
function, which could cause an accident.
