Remarks 

 Be sure that all information stored by the user in the instrument that needs to be saved is 
properly backed up before attempting to clear any of the instrument memory. 
 Keysight Technologies cannot be held responsible for any lost files or data resulting from the 
clearing of memory.

(Use when module installed in N6700C, N6701C,N6702C, N6705C mainframe) 

Description and 

purpose 

This Module EEPROM memory is used to identify the module.  It is Used to store, 
Model Number, Serial number, Calibration data, Calibration Date 

Size 

16 kBytes  (memory located in the module) 

Memory clearing

 

Module memory clearing Processes, in mainframes N6700C, N6701C, N6702C, N6705C. 
Model number, Serial number, and calibration data contains no user specific information. 
The only directly user modifiable information in the module is the calibration date. 
 Calibration Date can be cleared with the below process. 
 
Clearing Calibration date in a module used in N6700C, N6701C, N6702C mainframes:  
1. Turn on Power Supply Mainframe.  
2. Select the appropriate power supply module.  
3. Enter the Admin menu by pressing the Menu key and selecting: “System”->”Admin”->”Login” 
(press the Enter key after each selection).  
4. If you have an admin password you will be prompted to enter it. The default password is “0”.  
5. Select “Cal” -> “Date”. (Press the Enter key after each selection). 
6. Erase any data displayed under date by pressing the back arrow key (<-) and press the Enter key. 
7. Press the Back key. Select “Save” and the press the Enter key. Press the Enter key again. The 
unit will display: “Cal changes have been saved”.  
8. Press the Back key three times.  
9. Select the “Logout” menu item and press the Enter key. Press the Enter key again to log out. 
10. Repeat for all modules in the mainframe.

 

Clearing Calibration date in a module used in a N6705C mainframe:  
1. Turn on Power Supply Mainframe. 
2. Select the appropriate power supply module. 
3. Enter the Administrator menu by pressing the Menu key followed by selecting “Utilities”-
>”Administrative Tools”->”Administrator Login/Logout” (press the Enter key after each selection).  
4. If you have an Administrative Password, you will be prompted to enter it now.  
5. Select “Calibration” -> “Turn On/Off” -> “Date” (press the Enter key after each selection). 
6. Make sure the “Date” field is highlighted and then press the Enter key. 
7. Use the Back Space key to delete all characters in the “Date” field and then press the Enter key. 
8. Select “Close” and press the Enter key. 
9. Select “Save” and then select “Save Calibration for All Outputs”. The unit will briefly display: 
“Calibration constants saved” (press the Enter key after each selection).  
10. Press Enter. Select “Close” and press the Enter key. 
11. Press the Back key. Select “Administrator Login/Logout” and press the Enter key. 
12. Repeat for all modules in the mainframe
