Recommended procedure

Use the vise or clamp to position the tip an inch or so off the work surface for
easy access. If using a vise, grip the tip on the sides with light force. If using a
tweezers clamp, grip the tip either on the sides or at the top and bottom. See
Figure 2-26
.

CAUTION
When tightening the vise, use light force to avoid damaging the solder-in
probe head.
