The

Kerr

Pumps

Engineering

Service

will

be

happy

to

advise

you

in

your

installation

problems.

As

almost

every

installation

varies,

you

cannot

exercise

too

much

care

in

making

certain

your

installation

is

proper.

Before

Starting

The

Pump,

read

carefully

the

maintenance

section

in

the

following

pages.

To

start

the

pump,

open

the

suction

line

valve

and

permit

the

intake

chamber

to

fill

on

the

pump.

Air

may

be

bled

off

by

opening

the

valve

covers

slightly

until

there

is

a

constant

fluid

flow.

After

bleeding,

open

the

discharge

line

valve

and

start

the

pump.

Roughness

may

occur

from

cavitation

(air

in

line)

or

from

starvation

(lack

of

fluid).

Eliminate

these

troubles

before

permitting

continuous

operation.

For

best

results,

follow

these

installation

guidelines.
