• If your car's ignition does not come with an ACC position, connect the ignition cables to a power
source that can be turned on and off with the ignition key. If you connect the ignition cable to a
power source that receives a constant voltage supply, as with battery cables, the battery may die.
• If the fuse blows, first make sure that the cables have not caused a short circuit, then replace the
old fuse with one with the same rating.
• Do not let unconnected cables or terminals touch metal on the car or anything else conducting
electricity. To prevent a short circuit, do not remove the caps from unused terminals or from the
ends of the unconnected cables.
• After the unit is installed, check whether the brake lamps, blinkers, wipers, etc. on the car are
working properly.
• Insulate unconnected cables with vinyl tape or other similar material.
• Thoroughly wipe away oil and other dirt from the installation surface.
Please avoid installation on uneven surfaces.

Reset
When installation is complete, check the connections.
If everything is in order, press the reset button. If the
unit does not seem to be working right, try pressing the
reset button first.
If that does not solve the problem, consult your
Kenwood dealer.
The Mark Position of Your Car Immediately After Installation
• Immediately after installation, the information of the GPS satellite is taken in and it may take
several minutes to measure the position of the current location.
• Immediately after installation, the initial value setting of the gyro sensor is required. After
measuring the position of the current location, drive of about 6.2 mile (10 km) and further at a
constant speed at least 24.8 mile/h (40 km/h) in a place where there are few obstacles (for
example, buildings and tree-lined streets).
• Until the initial values are set, the position and speed indication of you car's mark on the navigation
system may differ greatly from the actual values.
• The proper connection of the car speed signal cable can be checked with the menu screen.
Please see the instruction manual for details.
