Adjust various param eters of sound quality.
Press the AUD button to enter the control mode.
Selecting mode
Press either the FM or AM button.
Each time the button is pressed, the adjustment mode w ill
change.
Please refer to the follow ing for the contents of the
adjustment modes.
Source tone memory
Each source (CD, M D, FM , AM and disc changer) has its ow n
memory in w hich to store the bass, middle, and treble tone
settings.
The settings made for a particular source are recalled
automatically w henever you use that source ( for example, FM
mode uses the tone settings made for FM , AM for AM , etc.).
Adjust each mode

This function am plifies low and high tones w hen the volum e is
turned dow n.
The LOUD indicator lights up w hen the loudness function is
on.
Turning Loudness On/ Off:
Press the LOUD button for at least one second to sw itch the
loudness on and off.

Selecting standby mode:
Press the SRC button repeatedly and sw itch to "ALL OFF" .
When "ALL OFF" is displayed, the standby mode is activated.
The standby mode turns all functions off w hile leaving the
pow er to the unit on. Use this mode w hen you w ant to have
the display illuminated but don' t w ant to listen to anything.
• The mode sw itches to the next mode from any mode w hich
cannot be used.
• The external disc control mode w ill differ depending on the unit
that is connected.
• To enable the selection of External disc control mode 2/AUX
mode, you should connect optional sw itching adapter KCA-
S210A (w hich allow s you to select both External disc control
mode 2 and AUX mode) or CD changer (KDC-CPS87, KDC-
CX87, KDC-CPS85, KDC-CX85, KDC-CPS82 or KDC-CX82) or
sw itching adapter CA-C1AX (w hich allow s you to select AUX
mode only).
During the AUX mode, "AUX" (or AUX-name display) w ill show
in the display. When the CA-C1AX is being used, the AUX
M ode w ill replace the External Disc Control M ode.
Presetting AUX-name (Except the CA-C1AX)
In the AUX mode, press the NAM E.S button for at least tw o
seconds. "NAM E SET" is display and AUX-name mode is entered.
Input the characters, referring to the section on "Presetting Disc
Names (DNPS)" (page 16).
