CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
WARNING
: Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance operation, switch off the appliance and
unplug it from the mains power.
The dirt vacuumed up will enter the dust container (A). The air is cleaned by a permanent washable
filter that is located inside the dust container, by a motor protection filter and an air outlet filter located
under the appliance.
WARNING
: Never use the vacuum cleaner if any filter is missing or damaged. Any dust cleaned up
will enter the appliance and damage the motor.
WARNING
: Clean the filters regularly or in any case, whenever the suction power seems to be
reduced.
Emptying the dust container (Fig. 4)
- Remove by turning the hose to the front of the vacuum cleaner.
- Open the cover by pressing the lever and then lift it upwards.
- Remove the container. Lift out the filter unit/cover and empty out the dust container.
- Refit the filter/cover assembly and place the dust container inside the cleaner.
- Close the cover by pressing it down until it locks into place.
Cleaning the filters
The filters should be cleaned at least twice a month or every time it is considered necessary
as clogged filters can reduce suction power or even damage the motor.
- Container HEPA filter. To remove the filter from the container, turn the container anticlockwise.
The HEPA filter serves to improve air quality in the home by filtering dust, pollen and other micro
particles. When the container filter is obviously dirty, it needs to be rinsed in warm water. Do not
use detergents or other additives.
Never machine wash the filter. Leave it to dry naturally and then refit it in place. After 5 or 6
washes, the filter should be replaced with a new one.
- Rear HEPA filter. Not washable. When it is obviously dirty, it needs to be replaced with a new one.
To remove it, open the back cover by pressing the small clip downwards (4 - Fig. 5).
- Internal filters. These are normal plastic fibre filters. To clean them, remove them and rinse in warm
water and then refit them once they are perfectly dry (5 - Fig. 6). The filter in the container lid must
be removed from the part under the lid.
Never machine wash filters and always leave them to dry naturally.
Keep the vacuum cleaner in a dry place.
