CUTTING AND SPLITTING OF WOOD
•
Make sure no one has hands or arms near moving parts of the machine
•
Walk around and look at the machine to familiarize yourself with its features before start-
ing.
•
Press the start button and wait a few minutes until the oil has reached the operating tem-
perature. Run the machine without any load for a number of times and check all functions
(cutting and splitting of wood) before work begins to get used to the controls.
•
Lay a straight, twig-free timber on the feeding table and aim it against the electric saw.
•
Set the length stop to the desired length.
•
Start cutting by moving the log forward towards the longitudinal stop.
•
Start the electric chainsaw and bring it down to the log. When you release the control
handle, the chain saw should stop.
•
Grasp the lever and start splitting by moving it forward. The pressure plate pushes the log
against the splitting wedge. WARNING! Be careful when splitting hard or twisted wood.
Certain types of wood may crack or fly away, which may result in injuries. The pressure
plate returns to the initial position when the splitting is complete.
•
If the wood is stuck in the splitting knife: Return the pressure plate to the starting po-
sition, open the protective cover and remove the jammed wood. Warning for crushing
injuries! Make sure the pressure plate is in its starting position and had stopped moving
before performing anything on the machine. NEVER put your hand or other body part
between the pressure plate and the splitting knife, use suitable tools such as spike or rub-
ber mallet to loosen the jammed wood, never use your hands!
