Symptom: Starting motor runs weakly Diagnosis procedures
Starter motor runs weakly.
Check if the lead wire connector from starter relay
to starter motor is poorly contacted.
Remove the starter motor lead wire and battery connecting
wire from starter relay, press starter button; when starter
relay gives a click sound, measure with an ohmmeter
resistance between battery terminal on the relay and starter
motor terminal and check if it is on state.
Check if starter button
contact

poorly
contacted.
Disassemble starter motor and make the
following inspections
:
1. Check if the carbon brush is over worn;
2. Check if carbon brush spring is broken or
weak.
3. Check if armature commutator is over worn,
burnt, or injured, or contaminated.
Starter relay contact is
burnt or injured.
