Receiving Emergency Rapid Mail
Reception of emergency rapid mail is notified by a special
warning tone, vibration and screen display.
When an Earthquake Early Warning is received,
a warning tone(cannot be changed) sounds and
Earthquake
or
Disaster
is displayed.

• You cannot receive Emergency Rapid Mail during a
call. You also might not be able to receive Emergency
Rapid Mail during C-mail/E-mail and EZweb
transmissions.
• You might not be able to receive Emergency Rapid
Mail when your cell phone is turned off or if you are
in a place where signal does not reach even in the
service area (e.g. in a tunnel, basement) or in a place
with a poor reception. In such instances, Emergency
Rapid Mail cannot be received again.
• This delivery system is different from Early Warning
provided through TV, radio, or other communication
procedures, which means that the time the Early
Warning arrives may vary.
• Information from someplace other than your current
location may be received.
• It is not possible to change the warning tone or adjust
the volume of Emergency Rapid Mail.
• While using EZweb, EZapps or TV (1Seg), the warning
tone might not sound, with only screen display and
vibration to notify you.
• If Emergency Rapid Mail arrives while you are
operating your cell phone, appears, the warning
tone sounds, and your cell phone vibrates to notify
you. End the operation and return to standby to view
the icon for the received Emergency Rapid Mail.

• The warning tone for Emergency Rapid Mail sounds
at a fixed volume even if [Volume] in [C-Mail Receive
(M214)] is set to [OFF].
• Your cell phone vibrates with the warning tone even if
[Vibrator] in [C-Mail Receive (M214)] is set to [OFF].
• Open your cell phone if information appears in the
subdisplay to view the received Emergency Rapid
Mail.
