Please check for signs on the tooth (e.g. tooth cusps, fissures, sharpness) and
angulate the camera until the image shows the same size and position as the
already captured tooth image. By resting the tip on the tooth or neighbor teeth
and the friction of the light emission arms, the DEXIS CariVu 3-in-1 by KaVo is
stabilized. A very close position to the former acquired image needs to be
achieved.
This step by step instruction helps to achieve similar tooth representation:
Visualize or reload historical images of the desired tooth.
▶
Select the same tooth to be visualized by the camera.
▶
Position the camera to get live video of the selected tooth.
▶
Look for similar horizontal alignment of the tooth by moving the device hor-
izontally (Adjust the device alternately mesial/distal and lingual/buccal).
▶
Look for similar distance of the device to achieve similar size of the tooth
(Adjust the device position up/downwards).
▶
Look for identical angulation of the tooth in respect to the historical image
(Rotate the device alternately mesial/distal and lingual/buccal).
▶
Acquire an image of the actual status of the tooth.
Monitoring can be achieved by comparison of the actual image with the histori-
cal saved images to identify any variance in the size or structure of lesions.
6.5 Switching the camera off
The camera can be switched off by the following means:
▶
Placing the camera in the table holder or wall mount
▶
Extended period of inactivity
