Calling up the menu
From the TV picture, press the
button to open the main menu. Then use the
buttons to
select the "Conditional Access" option. The following on-screen display appears (example):
You can also view encrypted channels using the receiver. For this purpose you must have a smartcard
from the cable network operator or channel provider and have a corresponding CI/CI+ module (called the
module in the following). The receiver has one module slot.
The Common Interface is used to plug-in modules (also called CAM). This item provides information on
the module inserted. The menu is dependent on the module inserted.
To insert the module, fi rst completely switch off the receiver at the power switch on the rear of the unit.
Then open the fl ap on the Common Interface slot on the front of the receiver.
Next carefully guide the module into the Common Interface slot to the stop. The button on the right side of
the Common Interface slot appears.
If you insert the module or the smartcard incorrectly, the receiver, the module
or the smartcard may be damaged. Please follow the instructions from the
manufacturer/provider/channel provider/cable network operator for your module
and your smartcard.
Now insert the smartcard in the module. Then please switch back on the receiver. The module is
initialised. A message appears on the screen depending on the cable network operator/channel provider.
Please follow these instructions.
If you have a module in which it is only necessary to insert the chip from your smartcard,
you must insert the chip fi rst and then insert the module in the Common Interface slot.
Now close the fl ap on the Common Interface slot. In this way you will protect the inside or your receiver
against soiling.
