•
If the opening is too small, it can be enlarged by
removing one or more brick layers or by partitioning
the cover layer.
Make sure at that time that the
durability and the fire safety of the fireplace do
not suffer!
•
The flue pening must at all times be more than half
open so that
smoke can freely escape into the
outside air
.
•
It also very important that there is enough empty
space around the insert -
at least 10 mm
. The gap
may be even larger but not too large - the front
frame must project approx. 10 mm over the
masonry and the gap between the front of the insert
and the furnace must be sealed.
•
The base of the furnace must be flat and
constructed in such a way that the insert is straight
in relation to the fireplace. If necessary, the base
can be made flat using bricks or a special mixture.
•
The front edge of the body of the insert must be
well sealed against the edges of the furnace
. (fig
1). If necessary, levelling can be done by bricking
up around the edges.
•
The final sealing is done using fire-retardant
material, for example mineral wool strips. The
fireplace insert do not work properly, if the sealing is
defective.
3.3. Installation of the fireplace insert, front sealed
installation, fig. 1:
It is important that
mineral wool is not placed
between the sides of the insert and the furnace
. In
other words, this gap must be empty (the device must
be able to expand about 10 mm in every direction and,
on the other hand, the radiation heat must be
transferred to the masonry work of the fireplace.)
The
insert must not be attached to the furnace in any
way
; it’s own weight holds it in place.
The sealing must be done with care at all sides of
the insert, also underneath. The depth of the sealing
must be approx. 5 cm from the front of the insert.
The material should be non-combustible, dense and
flexible, for example mineral wool
.
•
Detach the front frame, if necessary. The
instructions vary depending on the model. See
section 3.4.
•
Changing opening direction of the doors, models
TS-21. –77. See section 3.4.1.
•
Slide the insert in the prepared open fireplace so
that it is almost in place to make it possible to do
the sealing.
•
Cut suitable pieces of mineral wool strips and install
the strips between the masonry and the body of the
insert. Be careful not to leave any gaps.
•
Attach the front frame, if detached. See section 3.4.
Slide the insert in to its ultimate position.
The device do not work properly, if the sealing is
defective
.
TS-56: Normal installation (fig.1 and 2)
This is done to the level of the front frame on top of the
masonry.
If necessary, use the enclosed extra supporting legs
presented in fig. 1 and 2.
TS-56: Installation of an insert with base support
(fig. 1)
To be fitted at the correct height using the enclosed
extra supporting legs, if necessary.
It is important
that between the bottom of the bay
section of the insert and the base support/base of the
fireplace (fig. 1) there is a gap corresponding to the
height of the lower part of the front frame, when the
front frame is on top of the base support, or there is at
least 20 mm gap in order to ensure air flow. The insert
will be damaged, if air cicrculation is restricted!
TS-57: Installation of the insert
This insert is intended to be installed in a fireplace in
which a full-framed insert does not fit - or alternatively it
can be installed inside the fireplace (fig. 2). See also
section 3.5.
The general instructions given in section 3.2 shall be
followed. The installation can be done either with the
frame or, if the opening is too narrow, without it. The
lower part of the body of the insert and the bay section
can be mounted against the base of the fireplace,
because air is taken in via grills.
So, when you install the insert with a frame, keep in
mind that the front frame covers the opening sideways,
but not in upward direction:
1) use the enclosed extra supporting legs (fig. 1 and 2
part 2).
2) and/or seal up the max. 20 mm gap in the upper
part with, for example mineral wool (a such a small
gap usually cannot be seen from the room). If the
gap is larger (max. 50 mm), it can be sealed up, for
example, with a hard 50 mm thick mineral wool
plate, on top of which a black grill plate, easily
available, can be installed. You can paint also the
mineral wool plate black using a heat proof paint. In
this way you can make the installation even
elegant. In other respects the sealing of the insert
shall be effected according to the same instructions
as specified for the other inserts.
3.4 To facilitate sealing it is possbile to remove the
front frame on the following models:
Removing and attaching the front frame, model TS-
21
•
Loosen the screws (2 pieces) on the lower edge of
the frame.
•
Pull the lower side of the frame outwards, with the
other hand firmly on the edge of the upper air intake
opening, and pull carefully outwards
•
The frame is released from its upper holders.
•
Attach the frame in reserve order.

Removal:
•
Loosen the screws (2 pieces) on the lower
edge of the frame. Model TS-36.
On models TS-26 the screws are located between
the door and the vertical part of the front frame.
•
