IMPORTANT
The ventilation holes on the top and bottom covers of the system cabinet must not
be closed for any reason, since it may cause SPS224 to overheat and get
damaged.
II.3. CENTRAL PROCESSING MODULE
The CPU224 Central Processing Board is located on the rightmost plastic card slot
inside the system cabinet, next to SPS224 Power Supply Module. MS224
CPUKON CPU Connection Card resides next to CPU224, as connected to CPU224
via the MS224 CPU-FC Flat Cable.
CPU224 comes installed in the cabinet. However, if it is necessary to take out
CPU224 from the cabinet, the locks on the top and bottom parts of the plastic card
holder must be pressed towards the label on the holder and then, the card must be
pulled out slightly till MS224 CPU-FC becomes visible. After that, MS224 CPU-FC
must be removed from CPU224 and the card must be pulled out of the cabinet.
To insert CPU224 back in the cabinet, the back corners of the card must be placed
in between the top and bottom plastic card slots and then, the card must be pushed
inside the cabinet (see Figure B-4). Before inserting the card completely, MS224
CPU-FC must be plugged to CPU224. CPU224 must be then pushed inside the
cabinet, so that the connector at the back of the card fits to the one on the
backplane. When the card is inserted completely, the card must be fastened by the
lock mechanism on the plastic card holder. See Figure B-5 for the proper setting on
the plastic lock mechanism.
