3 Push the hose onto the G 1 ½ pump connecting
piece and fasten it with a hose clamp.
4 Push the connection nozzle into the Quick-Connect.
Illustration C
Erecting/immersing the pump:
1 Push the level sensor onto the rail from above.
Illustration D
2 Fold the feet out or in. (SP 17000 Flat Level Sensor)
Illustration E
Note
The feet do not necessarily need for be folded out bit
folding out the feet provides a higher delivery rate. Fold-
ing the feet in allows flat suction of liquids to a residual
fluid height of 1 mm.
3 Installing/removing the pre-filter. (SP 17000 Flat
Level Sensor)
Illustration E
Note
It is not necessary to install the pre-filter, but a higher
delivery rate is reached by installing the pre-filter (only
for SP 17000 Flat Level Sensor). The pumped liquid is
pre-filtered by the pre-filter to protect the pump from
heavy contamination. Particles of up to 5 mm can still be
pumped when using the filter. Removing the pre-filter al-
lows flat suction of liquids to a residual fluid height of
1 mm. (only for SP 17000 Flat Level Sensor).
4 Place the pump securely on solid ground in the
pumped liquid or immerse it via a rope attached to
the carrying handle.
Note
The suction area must not be blocked by soiling. If the
ground is muddy, place the pump on a brick or similar.
Make sure that the pump stands level. Do not carry the
pump using the cable or hose.
Operation
DANGER
Danger of death from electric shock.
Danger of death from electric shock if live parts are
touched.
During operation, do not touch the rope attached to the
carrying handle or any objects that are in contact with
the pumped liquid (e.g. pipelines protruding into the
pumped liquid, railings) and do not reach into the
pumped liquid.
Automatic venting device
1. If the fluid level is low, any sucked-in air, or air pres-
ent in the pump, may escape via the automatic vent-
ing device. Fluid can also leak along with air.
If the pump has problems with suction when the fluid
level is low, unplug and plug in the mains plug re-
peatedly to assist the suction process.
Illustration F
Automatic mode
Note
In automatic mode, the level sensor controls the pump-
ing process automatically. The pump switches on when
the level sensor makes contact with the rising pumped
liquid.
The pump switches off when the level sensor loses con-
tact with the falling pumped liquid and an after-running
time of 15 s has expired.
Illustration G
Switching on:
Minimum fluid level required to enable the pump to suck
independently (= minimum switch-on point):
●
SP 17000 Flat Level Sensor: 7 mm (57 mm when
using the pre-filter)
●
SP 22000 Dirt Level Sensor: 50 mm
Highest adjustable switching height of the level
sensor:
●
SP 17000 Flat Level Sensor: 190 mm (240 mm
when using the pre-filter)
●
SP 22000 Dirt Level Sensor: 237 mm
Minimum residual fluid height/max. suction depth:
●
SP 17000 Flat Level Sensor: 1 mm (without pre-fil-
ter, with folded feet)
●
SP 22000 Dirt Level Sensor: 35 mm
Note
It is recommended to use the pre-filter.
Note
Make sure that the pump stands level. Otherwise the
level sensor may not lose contact with the fluid and the
pump can run dry.
1. Push the level sensor to the desired switch-on
height (contact with the pumped liquid).
Note
The higher the level sensor is set, the higher the switch-
on and switch-off points. See the following table for ap-
plication examples:
2. Set the switch to Automatic mode (AUTO).
Illustration H
3. Plug the mains plug into a mains socket.
Manual mode
Note
In manual mode, the pump stays switched on.
1. Set the switch to Manual mode (MAN).
Illustration H
2. Plug the mains plug into a mains socket.
ATTENTION
Risk of damage from dry running!
Dry running leads to increased wear on the pump.
Do not leave the pump unattended in manual operation.
In case of dry running, immediately pull the mains plug
out of the socket.
