Maintenance

PROBLEM

PUMP MOTOR 

RUNS  BUT 

NO WATER 

IS DELIVERED

Air leaks

Check all connections on suction line and shaft seal.

Water level below suction of pump

Fill tank with water.

Jet or impeller is plugged

Clean jet or impeller, see Maintenance.

Pump outlet strainer plugged

Clean or remove sludge from strainer.

Hoses are frozen

Thaw out hoses.

SPRAY ARM WON'T 

SPIN

Low water temperature

Allow water to heat to operating temperature.

Spin pins out of alignment

Re-align spin pins.

PUMP STARTS AND 

STOPS 

TOO OFTEN

Low line voltage

If voltage under recommended minimum, check size 
of wiring from main switch to 
parts washer. If OK, contact power company.

Clogged impeller

Remove housing, unclog.

Faulty motor overload protector

Replace overload.

PUMP OPERATING 

BUT DELIVERS 

LITTLE OR 

NO WATER

Low line voltage

If voltage under recommended minimum, 
check size of wiring from main switch to 
parts washer. If OK, contact power company.

Worn or defective pump parts or 
plugged impeller

Replace worn parts or entire pump. Clean parts if 
required.

Spray bar nozzles plugged

Clean or replace.

IMPELLER

Impeller is loose on shaft

Tighten impeller set screw.

Impeller rubs housing

Realign impeller.

Impeller wobbles or is damaged

Replace impeller

Pump motor rotation is in the wrong 
direction

Change rotation by following the wiring diagram on 
the motor and changing wires to change rotation.

VOLTAGE 

LIGHT FAILS 

TO COME ON

No power to parts washer

Check circuit breaker supplying power to washer.

Fuse blown on transformer

Replace fuse.

Transformer defective

Replace transformer
