Safety Instructions
The CSUs and CEUs of the Flight Eye series are designed as rugged versions for universal use in the aviation
industry.
General Notes
Make yourself familiar with these instructions and the instructions in the operating manual of the
connected equipment before using the CSU and CEU.
Use the CSU and CEU as intended in accordance with the operating instructions.
The operating instructions must always be kept ready at hand in a safe place.
Never operate the CSU and CEU in a room containing explosive gases. An electrical spark could cause
an explosion.
Do not permit liquids to penetrate into the CSUs and CEUs.
The CSUs and CEUs must not be disassembled.
Make sure that the CSUs and CEUs do not fall down or are exposed to vibrations beyond certification.
The CSUs and CEUs can be damaged by improper handling or storage.
Permanent facing the CSU toward the sun or in the direct cone of a spotlight can lead to destruction of
the sensors. If the CSUs are aligned in the sun or in the direct cone of a spotlight, this leads to
overexposure and smearing in the form of a vertical stripe in the image. When the direct radiation is
prevented, this effect disappears.
Do not insert any foreign objects into the CSU and CEU. They can come into contact with dangerous
voltage points and damage the CSU and CEU.
Connection
The connecting cables must not be pinched, kinked or damaged in any other way.
The cable connections to the plug must additionally be protected with shrink tubes to ensure, that no
humidity can enter
Only those connectors mentioned in this operating manual are permitted to be used. Other connectors
can jeopardize the safety functions, ingress protection and the functionality of the CSU and CEU.
Only the voltage source specified in this manual is permitted to supply the CEU.
Before making the connection it must be checked whether the voltage source used corresponds to the
voltage source referred to in this manual.
