Mounting with installation instructions
3.1 Mounting
Compact
Reader
IMPORTANT
The Compact Readers managers must be assembled in a tamper-proof place (indoors or in
protected outdoor area) and must not be installed near high-voltage devices
Lines must be concealed in the wall or laid in a tamper-proof area
The robust reading properties of the Compact Reader permit direct mounting on metal or glass
surfaces, while maintaining a constantly high level of functionality. The two-section plastic housing
has been specially developed for simple adhesive or screw mounting.
Mounting:
Screw/glue the rear panel or spacer frame firmly in place; make
sure it does not become distorted (even surface).
In the case of flush cable mounting (rear panel), route the
cable towards the rear. Use a cable loop (siphon) to prevent
water ingress.
In the case of surface cable mounting (spacer frame), route
the cable downwards or to the side (create a cable
feed-through opening).
Option for rear panel
: Use a black sealing mat to level out
any uneven areas and ensure spray watertightness (IP54)
Mounting on metallic base
To achieve the greatest possible reading distance on a metallic
base, we recommend mounting a spacer frame where possible
(for a greater distance to the metal surface).
In all cases, the slide switch for antenna adaptation must be
set in relation to the base; refer to Chapter 0/Page 15
Closing:
Once the cables have been connected parallel to the rear
panel/spacer frame, clip on the frame (incl. the front); i.e. you
must be able to hear it latch into place (no indentations or bulges
in frame).
Opening:
Using a screwdriver (no. 1), apply pressure (opening
under the frame) to release the "click" closing mechanism
Open the frame slightly (approx. 10º) and then tilt it
to the right
(if this is not possible, tilt it carefully to the left).
