How Your Bark Collar Effectively Trains Your Dog
The progressive system of the K9konnection No Bark Collar is specifically designed to be the most
effective method of training your dog.
There are seven levels of correction that your dog may experience. Many dogs don't need more than
one or two levels of correction to bring about the desired result.
At first bark, the collar applies a short warning tone that your dog will associate with the act of barking.
If a second bark occurs within thirty seconds, a longer and more intense warning tone is sounded. The
third warning issued is an intense sound coupled with a brief and mild shock. This is repeated and
increased through levels 4-7.
Progressive Levels of Correction and Auto Shut Off
After the initial two warning tones, levels 3-7 issue a mild yet increasing shock each time your dog
barks. This continues through all seven levels unless your dog stops barking for 30 seconds. As a safety
to your dog, once the 7th level of correction is reached, the collar automatically shuts off to protect
your dog. Most dogs do not need that much correction to stop barking.
The progressive system allows your dog to receive the warning tone without shock as a reminder that it
needs to stop barking. This is a safe and humane way that allows your dog to decide if it wants to
receive more correction by continuing to bark. Not only is this more humane, it is more EFFECTIVE in
breaking the barking habit than conventional bark control collars. Remember that any bad habit may
take time to break.
Operating Instructions
The collar is practically automatic. Install the 6v alkaline battery, adjust the strap to the size of your
dog's neck and the collar will work automatically once your dog begins to bark.
Adjusting the Sensitivity to Your Dog
Each dog has a different bark so adjusting the sensitivity of the unit is an important part of the training
process. More on this will be covered in the Do's and Don'ts sections
The Do's
While most dogs respond immediately to the bark collar there are specific steps that can be taken to
maximize the effectiveness of the training. Follow these steps to ensure your dog associates his/her
barking with the sound/shock of the collar:
• Ensure that the collar is fitted snugly around your dog's neck by adjusting the slide buckle
• Make sure that the electrodes are in direct contact with your dog's skin. Hair between the electrodes
and skin will severely diminish the shock effect. If necessary, clip or shave your dog's fur under the
neck to ensure direct contact
• Press the (-) button to the minimum setting, especially if you have a small dog. If the collar does NOT
issue a warning tone after the first bark, slowly increase the sensitivity until the warning tone is
sounded at your dog's bark
