The unit is in standby to switch to N ews
P rogram if available. (The NEWS indicator lights
up.)
• I f the NEWS indicator flashes, tune into
another station providing R adio D ata S ystem
signals.
T o deactivate N ews S tandby R eception:

. (The NEWS
indicator turns off.)
• The volume adjustment while receiving N ews
is automatically memorized. The next time the
unit switches to N ews, the volume is set to the
previous level.

T racing the same program— N etwork-
T racking R eception
W hen driving in an area where FM reception is not
sufficient enough, this unit automatically tunes in to
another FM R adio D ata S ystem station of the same
network, possibly broadcasting the same program
with stronger signals.
• W hen shipped from the factory, N etwork - Tracking
R eception is activated.

A utomatic station selection— P rogram
S earch
U sually when you select preset stations, the preset
station is tuned in.
I f the signals from the preset FM R adio D ata S ystem
station are not sufficient for good reception, this
unit, using the AF data, tunes in to another station
broadcasting the same program that the original
preset station is broadcasting.
