Playback
Playback is the most basic operation possible with your VCR. Audio-visual
information recorded on a cassette will be played back on your TV screen
just like a broadcast programme.
Load a Video Cassette
Make sure that the window side of the cassette is
facing up and the spine label is facing away from
the VCR. Insert the cassette as shown in the
diagram below; don’t use too much force.
If the VCR was turned off before you inserted the cassette, the power will come
on automatically.
•If the record safety tab has been removed, playback begins automatically.
•If the record safety tab is intact, the VCR checks the tape information for
Programme Navigation. For details, refer to ‘Programme Navigation’
(

pg. 39).
Play
If the cassette that you inserted does not start playing automatically, press the
.
button on the VCR or the Remote Control. ‘BEST’ appears blinking in the
display panel during automatic tracking (
墌
pg. 36).
•Playback picture quality of LP/EP recordings will not be as high as SP record-
ings.
Stop & Eject

Press the

button on the VCR or the

button on the Remote
Control once to stop playback.
eject
Press the

button on the VCR a second time to eject the cassette
from the VCR. The cassette will take about 6 seconds to appear once the

button has been pressed.
