Defrosting
The inner walls of the freezer are automatically de-
frosted every 8 hours.
In the case of the refrigerator, the evaporator is auto-
matically defrosted every time the compressor stops
operating.
The water produced by defrosting flows away – in the
case of both the freezer and refrigerator compart-
ments – through special drainage grooves into a con-
tainer positioned at the back of the appliance above
the compressor where it then evaporates.
We particularly recommend that you periodically
clean the defrost-water drainage outlet, located in
the center of the drainage groove (Figure 14) in the
refrigerator compartment, to prevent the defrost
water form overflowing on to foods stored in the
compartment.
Use the special cleaner provided, which you will
find already inserted into the discharge hole.
