Installing and Removing XRE200 External Routing Engine Hardware
Components
The field-replaceable units (FRUs) in an XRE200 External Routing Engine are:
•
AC or DC power supplies
•
Fan modules
•
Hard Disk Drive (HDD) modules
•
Virtual Chassis Control Interface (VCCI) modules
The AC or DC power supply and fan modules are hot-removable and hot-insertable: You can remove and
replace them without powering off the external Routing Engine or disrupting external Routing Engine
functions.
A single HDD module is hot-removable and hot-insertable: You can remove and replace it without powering
off the external Routing Engine or disrupting external Routing Engine functions.
CAUTION:
Do not remove both HDD modules at the same time when the external
Routing Engine is powered on. If you need to remove both HDD modules, power off
the switch before removing the modules.
The VCCI module is not hot-removable or hot-insertable.
