Temperature
permissible
(Dust)
For all areas, the surface temperature of the electronic equipment shall not
increase in a way that the dust as cloud or layer can be ignited.
This is possible when the following conditions are respected :
-
Dust as cloud :
For the prevention of inflammation of dust atmospheres, the maximum
temperature of the surface must be limited.
It must be less than the lower of the two values such as 2/3 on the considered
temperature auto-inflammation of dust cloud.
-
Dust layer :
Surfaces on which it is not possible to avoid a dangerous incandescent dust
deposition, the surface temperature must not exceed the incandescent
temperature of 75K.
In case of upper layer to 5mm, a greater reduction of the temperature is
necessary.
If the dust is present in both the cloud and the layer, as is often the case, choose
the most unfavourable case.
Remark : for the term we use area, the casing containing electrical equipment.
