Question 4:
How do I secure the sensors?
Answer 4:
Install the sensors securely in place using the self-adhesive fasteners and screws supplied.
See the Operating Instructions for more details on installing the Smart Panel and wireless sensors.
Question 5:
Do I have to programme the Smart Panel?
Answer 5:
The wire-free home alarm WS100G2 is easy to install. The wireless sensors have a factory
setting that is already registered in the Smart Panel. This means that the sensors work as soon as they
are started up. If you buy additional accessories, follow the step-by-step instructions to add them to the
system.
NOTE!
Due to the alarm’s strong signal, we recommend that you change the settings for your house code
(see section 4.3 in these Operating Instructions) if you suspect that any of your closest neighbours are
also using this type of alarm system.
Question 6:
Can I use the same system if I move house?
Answer 6:
The wire-free home alarm WS100G2 is fully portable. If you move house, you can dismantle
the Smart Panel and the wireless accessories and install them in your new house.
Question 7:
What happens if I forget my PIN code?
Answer 7:
If you forget your PIN code, press the Reset button in the battery compartment in the Smart
Panel. The PIN code is then reset to the factory-set PIN code 1234.
Question 8:
Why doesn’t the motion sensor react to movements?
Answer 8:
The motion sensor is extremely sensitive. To extend the battery life, the sensor goes into
standby mode when an incident has been detected and reported to the panel. This standby period lasts
for three minutes. If no activity is detected during this period, the motion sensor is re-activated and is
ready to detect new incidents.
Question 9:
Why does the motion sensor continually produce false alarms?
Answer 9:
If you have pets, check whether they are triggering the system. Remember that the sensor’s
sensitivity to pets increases under certain conditions, e.g. the closer the pet is to the sensor.
Troubleshooting
Mains power failure
This can happen if the alarm system has been accidentally disconnected from the mains or if there has
been a power failure. If you are affected by a total power failure, contact your electricity company to
ascertain the cause. The back-up battery continues to power the system for approximately six hours.
Faulty system battery
This can occur if the back-up battery is discharged and has to be replaced. If the mains power supply has
not resumed, the low battery symbol flashes to indicate that the back-up battery in the Smart Panel is
almost spent. The back-up battery should be replaced as soon as the low battery level symbol is shown.
Sensor fault
This can occur if a sensor fails to communicate with the Smart Panel. In such cases, check that the DIP
switches and the jumpers for the house code in the sensors and in the Smart Panel have the same
setting.
MAINTENANCE
The product can be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth and then dried. Do not use abrasive or solvent-based
detergents or aerosol products, as such substances can damage or discolour the product. Make sure that
water cannot get into the product. Never try to clean the inside of the product.
Batteries
Make sure that batteries do not corrode or leak; this can cause permanent damage to the product. Insert
the batteries with the correct polarity as indicated inside the battery compartment. Do not mix old and new
batteries, or different types of batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries.
Used batteries must be recycled in compliance with regulations in force. Do not dispose of batteries in
household waste.
NEVER BURN BATTERIES.
