Other equipment that can increase safety

A means of cordoning off the pool area, such as a fence, with a gate that is always closed. A
hedge does not cordon off adequately.

A manual or automatic cover. This must be correctly installed and secured.

Electronic detectors that sense movement or falls. These must operate correctly. None of
these measures are a substitute for careful supervision.
In the event of an accident

Immediately lift the person out of the pool.

Phone 112 and follow the advice you are given.

Remove wet clothes and wrap the person in warm blankets.
Memorise emergency numbers and set them up next to the pool

Fire services: 112.

Ambulance: 112.

Poison Advice: 112 and ask to be put through to Poison Advice.

Never place the swimming pool indoors
