Adjustment Procedures
Results of Improper Adjustment
1. Hold the head grip
and lift the sewing machine up to the
maintenance position. Turn the stopper release lever
in the direction
of the arrow.
2. Confirm that the gas spring
is free (There is any ratting in direction
A.). Using a minus screwdriver and a wrench, remove the nut
and
the hinge screw
.
3. Loosen the screws of the thrust collar
in two positions and remove
the collar. Pull out the shaft
and remove the gas spring
.
4. Put a new gas spring
in the posture as illustrated and pass the
shaft
through the lower side of the gas spring
. Insert the spacers
in both sides of the gas spring
and fix it by means of a thrust
collar
.
* Make sure not to hurt the rod section of the gas spring
at the
time of reassembly work.
Fix the thrust collar
with an opening of 0.2mm in the thrust
direction and confirm that the gas spring
smoothly moves up
and down. Apply Juki Grease B (Part No. 40013610) to the shaft
section and the thrust collar
end plane.
5. Attach the hinge screw
, washer
, and the spacer
to the top of
the gas spring
as illustrated. Fix them by means of the nut
.
* Apply Juki Grease B (Part No. 10013640) to the shaft section of
the hinge screw
.
6. Return the stopper release lever
to its original position. (Turn it in
the reverse direction of 1.) Then, the stopper is released. Hold the
head grip
and slowly return the sewing machine to its original
position.
* Confirm that the sewing machine can be lifted (from the table) at
a force of 15kg or below at the tip of the head grip
.
