CHECK THE BLACK HOOP REGULARLY
Despite our attempts, we have come to the conclusion that making Spaceball unbreakable is impossible.
However, we have managed to fix several problems that arise from repeatedly falling and hitting the
ground.
The orange protective sphere and the black hoop are the elements that stop the blows, and they have
to be flexible to cushion the falls and be able to resist them. But at the same time, it is what makes it
more fragile.
In order to prevent deformation of the orange sphere, it transmits the impact energy to the black inner
hoop. That's why finally the Black Hoop is the part that suffers the most. If you look closely, there are
several reinforcements to make it as strong as possible.
After a fall the black hoop may be deformed. Look at it and if you notice it is deformed try to shape it
manually. You have to make it as circular as possible and above all make sure that the propellers do
not rub against the ring.
We've decided to include a spare black hoop in case it breaks due to a fall or it wears after a while
playing.
If you have experience with screwdrivers, you won't have much trouble changing the hoop. Simply
remove the 12 screws from the orange sphere, and then the two screws that fix the metal rod to the
black hoop. Replace the black hoop and attach the screws to the rods. Now pay attention and fit the
two parts of the orange sphere together and then put the 12 screws back in place.
If you are inexperienced or if anything that is not clear to you from the explanation above, we leave
you with a video in which we explain step by step how to replace the black hoop.
If you hear an unusual noise after a fall, the hoop may have deformed and the propellers may be
rubbing against the hoop. Stop the flight immediately and give the hoop a circular shape.
