Building Interoperability Nets
Operators browse to the Z2C GUI to create and dissolve interoperability nets. The Z2C’s audio
engine handles all audio mixing.
The screenshot that follows shows the Z2C Home Screen after the eight channels have been
configured. The green dots in the upper right of each channel icon confirm an active network link
between the Z2C and the RSP-Z2 and NXU-2B units. In a Z2C system, an active network link
indicates that the remote system is available as a usable resource in the Z2C.
To create a new interoperability net, right click on a channel icon and select “Put in next Net,”
or drag and drop a channel icon from the Resources Area into the empty net. In the screenshot
below, the radio channel named “VHF 163” has been right clicked.
Figure 6-2: Creating a New Interoperability Net
Continue to build nets by dragging and dropping icons into nets, or by right-clicking to create a
new net. The screenshot below shows three interoperability nets built from seven of the channels
from the remote systems. When channels are placed in nets, their representations in the Resources
Area are grayed out.
