7 MAINTENANCE
71 SAFETY MEASURES
Before performing any maintenance work, the following
activities must be performed:
• Check whether all parts of the insert are cold.
• Check whether ash is fully extinguished.
• Wear personal protection equipment as per Directive
89/391/EEC.
• Check whether the master switch is in the off position.
• Check whether power can accidentally be restored,
remove the plug from the electrical socket.
• Always use tools appropriate for maintenance work.
• After finishing maintenance activities, and prior to
restarting the insert, all guards must be reinstalled and
all safeguarding devices must be reactivated.
Use of an appropriate vacuum cleaner (industrial model)
may facilitate cleaning of ash
72 REGULAR MAINTENANCE
PERFORMED BY THE USER
The insert requires simple but frequent cleaning in order
to ensure its efficient operation and regular work.
This cleaning must be performed when the insert is shut
down and cold
721 Opening the door
To open the door, use the opening lever with the attached
cold handle (fig. 7.1).
Remove the ash deposited in the furnace (fig. 7.2).
The purpose of this cleaning is to ensure circulation of air
for combustion through the grate’s holes.
Raise and remove the grate, and clean the surfaces and
interior of the furnace (fig. 7.3).
Reinsert the grate, making sure that it fits perfectly in its
place
722 Cleaning the brazier chamber
The furnace should periodically be cleaned with greater
thoroughness (at least once a month).
After cleaning the grate, remove it and clean the space in
which it is found, together with the igniter (fig. 7.4).
