VARIABLE SPEED DRIVE
INSTALLATION
COOLANT CONTAMINATION AND
PROPERTIES
Drive.coolant.comes.packaged.in.1-gallon.containers.
The.coolant.is.premixed.and.should.not.be.diluted.
The.drive.coolant.is.pink.color.but.may.become.clear.over.
time..Although.the.coolant.may.become.clear,.the.nitrate.
inhibitor.is.still.effective.
The. coolant. volume. varies. by. the. size. of. the. drive.. The.
700.hP.drive.requires.3.gallons.and.the.912.hP.requires.4.
gallons.
Coolant.part.number.is.639A0211h36.
The.coolant.consists.of.distilled.water.containing.a.nitrite.
inhibitor.which.has.the.same.heat-transfer.characteristics.
as.water.
The. nitrite. inhibitor. is. designed. to. reduce. the. corrosion.
effect.on.the.aluminum.surfaces.in.the.cooling.circuit.and.
helps.to.prevent.galvanic.action.from.taking.place.between.
dissimilar.metals.
The.coolant.is.not.intended.to.be.an.antifreeze.and.will.not.
prevent.freezing.at.low.temperatures.
The. coolant. should. be. inspected. regularly. and. replaced.
annually.
Should.it.be.necessary.to.remove.the.coolant.fro.any.rea-
son,.such.as.equipment.repair,.discard.the.old.coolant.and.
replace.with.new.
If. the. color. of. the. coolant. turns. a. brown. or. green,. this.
indicates.that.a.bacteria.growth.is.taking.place.within.the.
coolant..If.the.coolant.turns.milky.white,.or.if.the.inside.of.
the.tubing.has.a.white.coating,.the.nitrate.concentration.has.
fallen.below.990.ppm..This.is.an.indication.that.the.nitrate.
is.corroding.the.inner.surfaces.of.the.cooling.system.and.
oxidizing.the.aluminum..If.any.of.these.conditions.exist:
1.. Drain.the.coolant.and.blow.the.system.out.with.com-
pressed.air.
2.. Flush.the.coolant.system.out.thoroughly.with.water.
3.. Fill.the.coolant.loop.with.ethylene.glycol.(not.Propylene.
glycol).
4.. Circulate.the.ethylene.glycol.for.approximately.one.hour.
5.. Drain.the.ethylene.glycol.and.refill.the.coolant.loop.with.
York.coolant.
Pulling. P2. and. J2. on. the. control. logic. board. will. run. the.
circulation.pump.which.will.help.to.remove.air..during.the.
filling.process.
6.. Check.the.coolant.system.again.in.two.weeks.to.ensure.
the.biological.growth.or.oxidization.does.not.return.
BLOWER MOTOR ROTATION
The.Blower.Motor.rotation.is.marked.on.the.blower.assembly.
and.is.to.be.such.that.the.blower.draws.into.the.assemly.
through.the.screen.and.pushes.down.and.through.the.motor..
