Setup and Operation
The John Shearer App on the tablet will step you through the setup. Here is a guide to how it works:
Section 1 - Machine Setup
Step1) press “Configure Machine”
Step 2) enter the number of rows on the machine
Step 3) enter the sowing width of the machine in metres.
Section 2 - Wheel Calibration:
In order to get an accurate measurement of distance and therefore an
accurate rate, it is necessary to perform a wheel calibration. This should be
performed before the first use of the machine or if a change is made to the
wheels on the machine (such as a change in the size of wheels and/or
tyres). It is
not
necessary to do this every time the machine is used.
In this process you will need to tow the machine a set number of sensor
pulses which will be shown on screen. It is recommended that you perform
this test at roughly the same speed as you would normally sow (typically
around 8km/h), although it is best to slow down towards the end of the
count down, in order to stop accurately at a sensor pulse.
