IDLE COASTING
(if present - excluding Plug-In Hybrid and
Mild Hybrid versions)
This function automatically operates the
clutch, allowing the car to proceed with
the engine disconnected from the wheels.
The engine remains running at idle speed
allowing the functions of the car to be kept
active (e.g. conventional battery charging,
air conditioning, etc.).
The
symbol appears on the instrument
panel display when the function is active.

transmission is only available on Mild
Hybrid versions.

The gear lever fig. 20 has the following
positions:
P = Park
R = Reverse
N = Neutral
D = Drive, (automatic forward speed)
"AutoStick":
• + to shift to a higher gear in manual
(sequential) driving mode
• – to shift to a lower gear in manual
(sequential) driving mode
Except for versions with automatic
transmission: the lever must only be moved
from P to D when the vehicle is stationary
and the engine is idling.
Press button (A) fig. 20 to shift the gear
lever to P ("Park") or R positions.
Versions with automatic transmission :
shifting from position D to position P (Park)
or R (Reverse) must take place only after
releasing the accelerator pedal, with car at a
standstill and brake pedal pressed.
Versions with dual clutch automatic
transmission
b / electrified dual clutch
automatic transmission : You can shift from
D to N freely, while you can only shift from
D to R or P ("Park") by pressing the button
on the gear lever.
ELECTRIC MOTOR ("e-machine")
(Mild Hybrid versions with electrified dual
clutch automatic transmission)
An electric motor is mechanically
connected to the transmission with the
following functions:

to provide additional torque to
the transmission, optimising the
performance of the heat engine

to recover kinetic energy during
braking, converting it into electrical
energy (generator operation)

to allow the car to be driven in electric-
only mode

to start the heat engine while the vehicle
is moving
WARNING The "eAuto" mode is not active
in "sequential mode".
