ILLUMINATED ENTRY —
IF EQUIPPED
The courtesy lights will turn on when you use
the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter to
unlock the doors or open any door.
This feature also turns on the approach lighting
in the outside mirrors (if equipped). Refer to
“Mirrors” in “Understanding The Features Of
Your Vehicle” for further information.
The lights will fade to off after approximately
30 seconds or they will immediately fade to off
once the ignition switch is turned to ON/RUN
from the OFF position.
NOTE:

The front courtesy overhead console and
door courtesy lights will turn on if the
dimmer control is in the

Dome ON
ⴖ
posi-
tion (extreme top position).

The Illuminated Entry system will not op-
erate if the dimmer control is in the
“Dome defeat” position (extreme bottom
position).
REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY
(RKE) — IF EQUIPPED
This system allows you to lock or unlock the
doors and swing gate from distances approxi-
mately 66 ft (20 m) using a Remote Keyless
Entry (RKE) transmitter. The transmitter does
not need to be pointed at the vehicle to activate
the system.
NOTE:
The line of transmission must not be blocked
with metal objects.
To Unlock The Doors And Swing Gate
Push and release the RKE transmitter UNLOCK
button once to unlock the driver’s door only, or
twice to unlock all the doors and swing gate.
When the RKE transmitter UNLOCK button is
pushed, the Illuminated Entry will initiate and
the turn signal lights will flash twice.
Remote Key Unlock On First Press
This feature lets you program the system to
unlock either the driver’s side, or all doors and
swing gate on the first push of the UNLOCK
button on the RKE transmitter.

For vehicles equipped with an Electronic
Vehicle Information Center (EVIC), refer to
“Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC)/
Personal Settings (Customer-Programmable
Features)” in “Understanding Your Instrument
Panel” for further information.

For vehicles not equipped with the EVIC, the
Remote Unlock feature can be enabled or
disabled by performing the following steps:
1. Push and hold the LOCK button on a pro-
grammed RKE transmitter.
