FREEDOM DRIVE I. Active, full-time 4WD capability with lOck mode features an
Electronically controlled coupling (Ecc), which constantly monitors wheel slippage
and transfers torque to the axle that can use it most. In tough conditions, the system

2.4L DOHC 16V ENGINE. Say hello to a
workhorse that adds value to every mile. The
available 2.4l DOHc 16V engine heads out to
achieve an EPA-estimated 4x4 fuel economy of
22 city/28 hwy mpg. Not only that, it cranks
out a healthy 172 hp and 165 lb-ft of torque — an
impressive performance for an engine this size.
It's matched to a 5-speed manual 2WD transaxle or
the continuously Variable Automatic Transaxle II
(cVT2), giving you the option to actively engage
or easily cruise with your powertrain.
2.0L DOHC 16V ENGINE.
This
powerhouse zooms off to achieve an
impressive 4x2 EPA-estimated fuel economy of
23 mpg on crosstown city streets and 30 mpg
on the highway. The engine's dual variable
valve Timing (vvT) electronically controls both
intake and exhaust valves, four valves per
cylinder (16v total), helping to improve power
and encourage an economic performance.
