Cleaning the test ports

3 Close the locking lever when the test adapter is firmly
seated. You will hear the locking mechanism lock.
The adapter is installed.
Fit the fiber optic cable to the test adapter or close the dust
cap.
Cleaning the test ports
It is a good idea to check that the optical connections are
clean and, if necessary, to clean them before starting
measurements. Even very small dust particles on the end
surfaces of the plugs or in the test adapters can adversely
affect the accuracy of the measurement. Cover the optical
connections with the dust cap whenever they are not in use.
This prevents them from getting dirty.
To clean the test ports
1 If the HST is on, press the green power button to power
down the unit.
