ISSUE #1: TOUCH SCREEN IS NOT COMMUNICATING TO ANY RELAY BOARD
There are a few quick items to check if the touchscreen is not communicating to the main or expansion relay board.
These items should be checked if none of the relays respond to the touchscreen. If one of the relays responds to the
touchscreen, these following items are not applicable.
1. Check the Ethernet cable is plugged into the proper port on the back of the touchscreen. There are 2 ports on the
back of the touchscreen. Make sure the Ethernet cables are hooked into the proper ports for single/multi-screen
systems.
2. Check the Ethernet cable for proper wiring convention. The Ethernet cable must utilize a
straight-through EIA 568A
or EIA 568B wiring convention. The crossover convention is NOT ALLOWED and may result in damage to the MEC2
system. It is highly recommended to utilize a LAN tester to ensure each RJ45/EZ-RJ45 connector is terminated
properly. See below for the proper wiring convention.
