Achieved in Mixing Chamber
11. Transport the machine to the feeding area.
NOTE - It is not recommended that the unit be transported for long distances when the
mixing chamber is fully loaded. Transporting will compact the mixture and can make
startup difficult.
12. Use a combination of opening the unloading door and ground speed to distribute the feed
mixture to the desired areas. Follow this order:
- Raise the unloading door (on CE units, also depress the foot safety switch at this time);
- If not already done, start auger rotation;
- Begin driving along feeding area to unload the feed.
13. Monitor scale indicator readings to evaluate ration distribution to unloading areas.
14. Continue unloading until mixing chamber is empty or desired amount of mixed ration has
been unloaded.
Important: It may be necessary, in order to completely empty the mixer of all commodities, to
start and stop the auger multiple times. This will dislodge the feed that is resting on
the auger flights, and allow the auger to unload the feed. DO NOT start and stop the
auger rapidly as this will cause unnecessary strain on the hydraulic system!
15. Stopping:
a. Stop forward motion.
b. Close unloading door (on CE units, also release the foot safety switch at this time).
c. Slow engine to low idle.
d. Turn auger ‘off’ as outlined in section ‘
’.
e. Stop engine if required (and block wheels or apply parking brake if equipped).
16. Emergency Stopping:
If an emergency should arise, turn auger ‘off’, stop forward motion and stop engine
immediately.
