4.14 Automatic switch-o
ff
(timer)
The automatic switch-o
ff
device is used to automatically
switch o
ff
any cooking zone after an adjustable period of time.
Cooking times ranging from 1 to 99 minutes can be set.
1. Cookware is placed on a cooking zone and a power level
(e.g. 3) is selected.
A cooking zone must be selected. To do so, press the
respective cooking zone selection key.
2. Press the Plus or Minus key of the timer. The timer
display will show 00.
3. Immediately use the Minus key or the Plus key of
the timer to select the time. The procedure will have com-
menced.

for another cooking zone, press

rst press the respective
cooking zone selection key and then select the time.
4. The cooking zone will be switched o
ff
when the time has
lapsed. A signal will sound for a while and can be switched
o
ff
by pressing any key (except for the OFF key).
Notes
• If you wish to check on the time that has lapsed (switch-o
ff
device), select a cooking zone and correct the time with
the Plus key or the Minus key of the timer.
• Terminating the function of the timer: A cooking zone must
be selected. To do so, press the respective cooking zone
selection key.
Press the Plus key and the Minus key of the timer simulta-
neously.
4.15 Lock/ child safety device
The lock can be used to block operation and settings (e.g.
power setting 4). Only the ON/OFF key can be used to switch
the hob o
ff
.
The lock can be activated both when the hob is switched
on and when it is switched o
ff
. An activated lock will remain
activated even if the hob is switched o
ff
! The lock hence also
serves as a child safety device in order to prevent the hob
from being operated unintentionally or intentionally.
Activating the lock
1. Press the lock key until the buzzer sounds. The control
lamp lights up. The lock has been activated and the control
sensors cannot be operated.
De-activating the lock
2. Press the lock key until the buzzer sounds. The control
lamp will go o
ff
and the lock will have been deactivated.
Please note
• Subsequent to connection to the mains or after a power
cut, the lock function is activated.
