2. Removal of the Front Cover
(Tools Required: 2 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm hex handle tool,
4 mm L hex tool, #3 flat screwdriver.)
Caution: Make sure the machine is unplugged from
the wall before removing the machines front cover.

Loosen the small set screw on top of the front
cover (position A) Rotate the 3-hole thread guide
to allow access to the frame screw behind it, then
re-snug the screw so the guide will not become
misplaced .
(2 mm handle hex tool)
2. Remove the three smaller circled frame screws
near the needle
(3 mm handle hex tool)

Remove the other 10 front cover screws. (
4mm
handle hex tool; you may need an L hex tool to
loosen them first.)
4. Remove the two screws from the needle plate
and then remove the needle plate .
(# 3 flat
screwdriver)
5. Swing the front cover away from the rear casting,
starting at the front needle end of the machine,
and hinging from the hand wheel end of the
machine .
6. Before removing any cables from the control board
properly ground the machine and put on a ground
wrist strap.
7.
Carefully remove the following 7 cables from the
control board: control board red/black power
cable, main shaft encoder cable, motor driver
board cable, two handle bar cables, remote power
cable, and light ring cable. Note: the tension cable
remains connected to front cover with the control
board .
