For Straight Stitch
The ideal straight stitch will have threads locked between
the two layers of fabric.

For Zigzag Stitch
In the correct zigzag stitch, the bobbin threads will not
show on the right side of fabric and the needle threads
will show slightly on the wrong side of fabric.

Raise the presser foot and
hold the needle thread
lightly with your left hand.

Turn the handwheel towards
you with your right hand
until the needle goes down,
and continue to turn the
handwheel until the take-up
lever is at its highest
position. Lightly pull on the
needle thread to draw up a
loop of the bobbin thread.

Pull 15 cm (6˝) of both
threads back and under the
presser foot.

Set “AUTO” for ordinary sewing to get well-balanced tension.

a lower number.
