14. Place the left-side saddlebag on the padded bench to protect.
Cut out template #4 from the instruction manual for the 2014-2017
Harley saddlebag, OR template #2 for the 1998-2013 Harley saddle-
bag. Hold it up against the inside of the left saddlebag and mark the
oval opening to be drilled/cut into the saddlebag to allow for the main
wire harness weatherproof plug assembly to be installed. (Photo-M)
15. Now mark center and drill a ½ “ hole at both
ends of the marked oval. Then using a small router bit
inserted into a Dremel tool, rout out the oval opening
from the inside along the lines you marked from the
template. (Photo-O)
16. Then drill a 13/64“ hole on each end of this
opening, as per template #2 or #4. Then using the two
black screws provided, secure the main wiring harness
plug into the saddlebag. (Photo-P)
13. Secure the wire inside the saddlebag, in position,
using the pre-gummed wire/tie strap holders. Then
carefully insert the wire grommet properly into the
53/64” hole so as to prevent moisture from entering
the saddlebag. (Photo-L)
17. Place the amplifier with bracket installed into the
very back portion of the saddlebag and once lined up
into the proper vertical position, pull back out, peel the
backing off of the applied double-sided sticky tape,
then place back into the rear portion of the saddlebag
and press firmly into place. (Photo-Q)
