9. Then route the cable from the Bluetooth controller down the
handlebar to the connection location inside the headlight housing
and plug-in the corresponding plugs from the J&M and Harley wiring
harnesses inside the headlight housing. (Photo-H) At this same time,
plug-in or wire-in (depending upon year/model of your RoadKing) the
switchable power source connection for the system, also inside the
back of the headlight housing.
10. If you have installed OR are installing lower or
upper front fairing speakers, locate the included front
speaker wiring harness, plug the 4-pin black plug into
the corresponding plug inside the headlight harness,
and then route the wires to the left and right side front
speakers and connect. (Photo-I)
11. Place the right-side saddlebag on a good clean
padded bench to protect it from scratches to the paint
etc. Locate template #1 in the instruction manual for
the 1998-2013 saddlebags or template #3 for the
2014-2017 saddlebags, cut this template out using
a pair of scissors, hold it up against the inside of the
right saddlebag and mark the center of the 53/64”
hole to be drilled for the right saddlebag lid speaker
wire. (Photo-J)
12. Once the hole is drilled, route the right saddlebag
lid speaker wire thru the hole, (with grommet dome
pointing outward) around the inside back of the bag,
under the fabric tether, all the way to the speaker and
connect. (Photo-K)
(If your saddlebag lid speakers use spades only for
the wire connection, cut off the 2-pin push plug,
strip and crimp 1 large and 1 small spade connec-
tor to the ends of the wires. The solid blue wire is
speaker “+” and the blue wire with the black tracer
is speaker “-“.)
