Replacing the DVR 50 PSU/AMP

•
Disconnect the power cord from the AC outlet and take all necessary ESD precaution.
•
Remove the lid. (See instructions under Lid)
•
Disconnect all cables going to and from the PSU board and MPEG board.
•
Dismount and remove the MPEG board. (See instructions under MPEG board.)
•
Unscrew the screws holding the speaker outputs and AC inlet on the rear panel. 44-0398/2/1/3
•
Dismount and remove the PSU board. Note! Due to tolerance problems some of the early models require the Plastic
Front to be remove in order to get the PSU board out.
Important notice! When mounting or dismounting the PSU board BE VERY CAREFULL! when working on the screws
located under the heat sink. The screw heads are close to the sesitive SMD components. Especially sensitive are C222,
C223, C224 and C225 located in the RF output circuit as well as C 324, C326 and C327 located in the RS output circuit.
Of the same reason are the screwheads on these screw smaller than normal. Do not mix these screws as this may
damage the PSU board.
•
Mount the new PSU Board and assemble the DVR 50 unit in the reverse order of disassembling it
Caution High voltage!
The PSU main heat sink is connected to the power supplies fl oating ground.
Touching the heat sink may cause electrical shock.
When connecting the loader power cable to CON5 or CON6 be carefull not
to turn the connetcor the wrong way. Connecting the power cable wrong will
damage the loader.
When connecting the Audio board power cable to CON7 be carefull not to
turn the connetcor the wrong way. Connecting the power cable wrong will damage the PSU board.
