7.15 RADIATOR _______________________________________________________________
Check coolant level daily. Radiator should be full and
recovery bottle should be up to the
cold
mark.
Drain and refill annually. Remove the radiator cap, open the
engine block drain, and the radiator drain. Empty and clean
the recovery bottle.
Mix clean water with ethylene glycol based anti-freeze for
the coldest ambient temperature. Read and follow the
instructions on the anti-freeze container and engine manual.
Keep radiator and hydraulic oil cooler air passages clean.
Use compressed air (30 psi maximum) to clean the fins.
To clean radiator:
1. Turn out thumb screws
(A)
securing hydraulic oil cooler
to the radiator, and tip cooler away from radiator as
shown.
2. Use a blow gun to clean the radiator and oil cooler fins.
Note:
A sliding panel located under the frame can be
loosened and pulled back to allow dirt and debris to fall
though frame
.
3. Fasten oil cooler to radiator.
4. Check and tighten the fan belt. Replace clamps and
hoses every two years.
5. If you have to add coolant more than once a month, or
add more than one quart at a time, have a Jacobsen
Dealer check the cooling system.

steam blow-out, never attempt to remove the radiator
cap while the engine is running. Stop the engine and
wait until it is cool. Even then, use extreme care when
removing the cap.
