CUTTER DRIVE BELT

REPLACEMENT

1. Detachthe mower from the tractor.

2. Remove screws

and lockwashers

from around

the

belt cover and carefully

remove it

from the mower

(See Fig. 8).

3. With apair

of pliers, grip the endof

the tension

spring and remove it from the

slot in the

mower

housing (See Fig. 9).

4. Removethe worn belt

and replace it with anew one.

5. Hook theendof

the tension spring inthe slot.

6. Replace the cover

and fasten

it securely with the

screws and lockwashers

previously removed.

Cutter Bar Removal

This operation

must be performed

with the mower

detached from the tractor.

Turn the

mower over on its

back and remove thescrew and

lockwasher at the center of each cutter bar.

When sharpening

the cutter

bar, do not follow

the

original angle of grind as shown

in "A"

(See Fig. 10).

Instead, grind new cutting

edges onthe diagonal

as

shown

in "8".

Make sure that

each cutting

edge

8

receives anequal

amount of grinding to prevent

having

an

unbalanced

bar

which

will

cause

excessive

vibrations at high speeds and maydamage the mower.

HEIGHT

There are five

cutting heights on the control

quadrant.

The cutting heights are shown inFigure 11.

Move the

cutting height

control leverto the position desired.

NOTE

Cutting heights are measured withthe rearrollers
setting onthe ground,

and theimplement

lift lever

set in the corresponding position on the liftquadrant
or the next lower position for2" (5.08em) and 3"

(7.62 em) cutting position (see Figure

11).

MOWER LEVELING ADJUSTMENT

The mower is pre-set at the factory

and under normal

conditions

will

never need adjusting.

However, the

mower should be checked periodically

and if necessary

adjusted as follows:

1. Side to Side:

If one side of

the mower is lower than

the other, remove the rearhanger

bracket onthe low

side of the mower and reassemble it in adifferent

set
