Using the camera and monitor, ensure
debris is not stuck to the LaneBlade®.
17.
If debris is stuck to the LaneBlade®, when
safe to do so, exit the vehicle wearing
appropriate personal protective equipment
in order to manually remove debris from
LaneBlade®.
Do not travel on roadway with
debris stuck to the LaneBlade®.
18.
With the LaneBlade® raised to its stowed
position, return the wings fully to their
stowed position.
19.
Power the LaneBlade® system off by moving
the ON/OFF SWITCH to OFF.
20.
Return the controller to its cradle on the
dash.
Always return controller to cradle
when not using the LaneBlade®.
21.
When safe to do so, place your vehicle in
reverse and safely back at least one truck
length from the debris.
22.
Use your vehicle’s warning lights and turn
signals to communicate your intention of
re-entering traffic.
23.
When safe to do so, legally and carefully
return to traffic.
24.
Turn off turn signals and warning lights.
POST-USE INSPECTION
Always park the LaneBlade®
vehicle in a safe and level area
when performing post-use inspections.
Always support the LaneBlade®
with appropriate jack stands when
performing post-use inspections.
1.
After every use, visually inspect the
LaneBlade® looking for damaged, bent,
loose, missing or broken bolts, pins, and
snaps.
2.
Visually inspect LaneBlade® components
and frame for damage, rust, or broken
welds.
3.
Visually ensure all the cylinder and wing
pivot pins are free from damage.
4.
Carefully inspect the LaneBlade® blade.
Use the inspection standards on page 16 to
determine if the blade is due for
replacement.
5.
Run the LaneBlade® through its total
movement and look for complete
movement or evidence of hydraulic leaks.
6.
Visually inspect the maul board, blade, and
face for damaged, frayed, or missing pieces.
7.
Visually inspect all wiring harnesses for
exposed wires, corrosion, or damaged
insulation, including the cab controller
cable and wiring harness.
8.
Visually inspect hydraulic lines, seals, and
components.
9.
Inspect the hydraulic fluid level following
the steps listed on page 15. Ensure
hydraulic fluid level is at a proper level.
10.
Check the LaneBlade® camera for proper
operation, clean lense, and acceptable field
of view using the standards given on page
16.
