5. Advanced Configuration
5.1 VLAN
VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) logically divide one LAN (Local Area Network) into a
plurality of subsets, and each subset will form their own broadcast area network. In short,
VLAN is a communication technology that logically divide one physical LAN into multiple
broadcast area network (multiple VLAN). Hosts within a VLAN can communicate directly.
But VLAN groups can not directly communicate with each other. So, it will limit the
broadcast packets within a VLAN. Since it cannot directly access between VLAN groups,
thus it improves network security.
